Newfound Lake in Alexandria, New Hampshire, January 26, 2023

I saw Newfound Lake for the first time nine years ago.

My first impression? Wow, awesome lake!

Newfound reminded me of Canandaigua, one of the 11 sublime Finger Lakes in New York state. Canandaigua, like Newfound, is a vestige of the last Ice Age. It’s less than an hour from where I grew up near Rochester, my hometown, and I have fond memories of my time visiting friends there.

Not long after my wife Andrea and I found Newfound, we bought a condo with access to the lake, beaches with exceptional water quality, kayaking, nice views and the Great Outdoors. We eventually moved there and I have taken thousands of photos since then.

Without a doubt, Newfound’s scenery is often stunning, serene, even magical, with each season ushering in a fresh array of photo ops.

Now, here are some of my best attempts to capture the essence of Newfound Lake. Note that the captions cover where and when photos were taken.
